Slowing Down- How inclusive are we really?

During this period of slowing down. Life at present is slower than its been in quite sometime. Discerning whether to part with my summer again next year teaching about disability, accessibility, and faith. How accessible do we truly want to be. At present I continue to struggle with how to juxtapose theology, disability and the world at large. As a person with a disability and an African-American woman of faith pursing theological education. Sure we are starting to say we want to be inclusive but again what does that mean? Does it mean you’re welcome to come in our building? Does it mean you can participate but we may or may not accommodate your needs? Does it mean we will install a ramp or two ? I suppose that’s enough for now until next time…..
